爾時敬首菩薩白佛言：「佛及菩薩，二初照智從何而生？寂照、寂照之義復云何？二諦法性為一為二？為有為無？第一義諦復當云何？」

At that time, Śraddhāpradāna Bodhisattva said to the Buddha: "From where does the initial illuminating wisdom of Buddhas and bodhisattvas arise? What is the meaning of 'quiescent illumination' and 'illuminating quiescence'? Is the dharma-nature of the two truths one or two? Is it existent or non-existent? And what is the ultimate truth?"
