阿難聞是語已，心生慙愧。乞食已，還詣佛所，頭面禮足，却住一面，合掌白佛言：「世尊！佛法之中，頗有孝養父母不耶？」

When Ānanda heard these words, he felt shame and remorse. Having finished begging for food, he returned to the Buddha, bowed his head to the Buddha's feet, stepped back to stand on one side, and with palms joined addressed the Buddha: "Bhagavat, within the Buddha's Dharma, is there filial support of parents or not?"
