2.49

「五百大子見其父王身瘡平復，歡喜無量，即前頭面禮足，却住一面，合掌向父，異口同音俱發聲言：『未曾有也！今者父王真是大悲，愍傷一切。』王報太子：『汝等若是孝子者，當發阿耨多羅三藐三菩提心。』是諸太子聞是語已，心生歡喜，感於父王重恩分故，尋聲即發阿耨多羅三藐三菩提心。二萬夫人，百千婇女亦復如是。」

"When the five hundred princes saw their father the king's bodily wounds heal completely, they rejoiced immeasurably. They came forward, bowed their heads at his feet, withdrew to stand on one side, and joined their palms toward their father, crying out in unison with one voice: 'It is unprecedented! Now our father the king is truly greatly compassionate, pitying all beings.' The king said to the princes: 'If you are filial sons, you should give rise to the mind set on anuttarasamyaksaṃbodhi.' When the princes heard these words, they rejoiced, and moved by the profound kindness of their father the king, upon hearing his words they immediately gave rise to the mind set on anuttarasamyaksaṃbodhi. The twenty thousand royal consorts and hundreds of thousands of palace maidens did likewise."
