爾時阿難即整衣服，前白佛言：「世尊！如來初發菩提心時，知恩報恩，行初四事，其義云何？」
At that time Ānanda adjusted his robes, stepped forward, and said to the Buddha: 'Bhagavat! When the Tathāgata first aroused the mind of bodhi, knowing kindness and repaying kindness, and practiced the first four things, what was the meaning of that?'
