7.37

爾時大會中有萬八千大菩薩摩訶薩，即從座起，整衣服，偏袒右肩，右膝著地，叉手長跪，而白佛言：「世尊！我等能於後惡世之中，受持擁護阿耨多羅三藐三菩提，能護正法，教化眾生。」

At that time, eighteen thousand great bodhisattva-mahāsattvas in the assembly immediately arose from their seats, arranged their robes, bared their right shoulders, placed their right knees on the ground, joined their palms, knelt upright, and said to the Buddha: "Bhagavat! We can receive, uphold, and protect anuttarasamyaksaṃbodhi in the later evil age; we can protect the saddharma and teach and transform sentient beings."
