At that time, that Buddha told the bodhisattvas: "Good men, when you go to the Sahā world, if you see that Buddha, you should generate thoughts of making offerings, showing reverence, and perceiving how rare he is to encounter. Why is this? Śākyamuni Tathāgata, throughout immeasurable hundreds of thousands of millions of billions of asaṃkhyeya kalpas, underwent difficult and ascetic practices, and produced a great compassionate vow: 'When I attain Buddhahood, I shall become a Buddha within an impure and evil land of mountains, ridges, mounds, hillocks, rubble, and briars, wherein the sentient beings are fully endowed with afflictions, the five heinous sins, and the ten evil acts, and I shall benefit them, causing them to sever all suffering, obtain all bliss, accomplish the Dharma-body, and extinguish [defilement] forever without remainder.' Such was that Buddha's original vow. As you go now, you should go as a Buddha goes, and abide as a Buddha abides."
