"Then the ṛṣi addressed the king, saying: 'Great King, you should know that these lotus flowers are not of my doing.' The king said: 'If not the great master's, whose doing is it?' He replied: 'Great King, the ṛṣi of the southern cave has raised a daughter, exquisite and dignified in appearance, complete with human marks, rarely seen in the world. When this girl walks, lotus flowers spring up beneath her feet wherever she steps.' Hearing these words, the king felt joy in his heart, and at once went to the southern cave. Seeing that ṛṣi, he bowed his head to his feet. The ṛṣi then came out and inquired after him: 'Great King, having traveled a long road, are you not exceedingly fatigued?' At that time the great king answered the ṛṣi, saying: 'Hearing that you have a daughter, I wish to seek her hand in marriage.'
