4.14

"At that time, Crown Prince Kalyāṇamitra immediately arose in delight and touched his head and face to his father the king's feet. The consorts and the hundreds, thousands, and ten thousands of palace women asked one another: 'Is Crown Prince Kalyāṇamitra dead or alive now?' They replied: 'The crown prince has now arisen, and is joyfully taking food and drink.' The king asked the crown prince: 'You are so earnest in your desire to enter the great sea; what do you intend to do?' He answered: 'Great King! I wish to obtain the great maṇi jewel in order to abundantly supply all that sentient beings require.'
