Having praised him thus, he bypassed nine kalpas, and the perfection of vigor was ultimately completed. Dwelling on the consummate place, the diamond seat, in the first watch of the night he subdued all the hosts of Māra, and in the latter watch of the night, through the vajropama-samādhi, the two practices of concentration and wisdom were ultimately completed. Thus, prior to sitting on the diamond seat and subduing Māra, he cultivated the accumulations of merit and wisdom for three incalculable kalpas and served all buddhas. Although the six perfections were completed, while still in the body of an ordinary being he sat on the diamond seat, realized the paths of seeing and cultivation, and attained complete and perfect awakening. In the Śrāvakayāna, at the time of the cause, it is not taught that one understands all phenomena as non-self and emptiness, the great compassion of practicing giving with the three wheels empty, or the aspects of the ten grounds; nor at the time of fruition are the enjoyment body and the four knowledges taught.
