Destruction of the receptacle world has three types: fire, water, and wind; the destruction [by fire] has been explained above. After it happens like this seven times, the world forms again, and then it is destroyed by water up to the second dhyāna heaven. From the Ābhāsvara heaven great clouds then arise and pour down heavy rain, so that the receptacle world dissolves and melts away completely like salt dissolving in water, and that water dries up of itself. After one water disaster, there are again seven fire disasters; having passed seven fire disasters, there is again one water disaster. When such water disasters reach seven times, followed again by seven fire disasters, the world forms afterward. It is then destroyed by a wind disaster, up to the third dhyāna heaven. The power of that wind blows apart even Mount Meru, not to mention anything else. Although the fourth dhyāna heaven has no external disasters, those sentient beings are born together with their palaces, and when their life-spans end, the palaces vanish. Thus the receptacle world and the world of sentient beings, along with their formation and destruction, have all been explained.
