The Commentary says: This explains the title of the expounded dharma gate. When one reaches the tenth stage and is about to receive the position of Dharma King of the Tathāgata, all the Tathāgatas of the ten directions assemble harmoniously and all consecrate their crown, like the ritual of a kṣatriya receiving the royal throne. Now when this bodhisattva receives the revered position of a Buddha, with what dharma-water is their crown sprinkled to bring auspiciousness? It refers to the wisdom dharma-water of all Buddhas having extraordinary wisdom, generating all virtues and containing all virtues, like a treasury. By consecrating the bodhisattva's crown with this wisdom-water, the stains of the two obscurations from beginningless time are completely exhausted, and all the auspicious merits of all Tathāgatas are brought to full perfection. Now this Dharma is expounded to cause them to rely on it and enter it, which is why it is called a "gate".
