第八、明應驗。問：誦持般若，有何驗益？答：此經流行漢地二百餘年，誦者得益，不可稱記。昔在山僧誦之，空中彈指，異香滿室。又開善法師誦得延壽七年。又朱仕衡行，以大品投火，火為之滅，而經不燒。廣益無量，不可具述。

Eighth, explaining the miraculous responses. Question: When one chants and upholds the Prajñā, what verified benefits are there? Answer: This sūtra has circulated in the Han lands for more than two hundred years, and the benefits obtained by those who chant it cannot be fully recorded. In the past, when a mountain monk chanted it, fingers snapped in the air and an extraordinary fragrance filled the room. Furthermore, when Dharma Master Kaishan chanted it, he obtained an extension of his lifespan by seven years. Furthermore, when Zhu Shixing traveled, he threw the Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā into a fire; the fire was extinguished because of it, and the sūtra was not burned. The extensive benefits are limitless and cannot be recounted in full.
