余同國社友丹山子——法諱順藝者——天資聰敏，好學甚篤。遊學本黌，有年于茲。慨此典未現流於世，探其善本，刻苦校讎；頗延歲月，旁加邦讀。付諸剞劂氏，將上木，令余作序。余雖不敏，曷不喜此典流後代、布海內乎！

My countryman and society colleague Tansan-shi—whose Dharma taboo name is Jun'gei—is endowed with sharp intelligence and is exceedingly devoted to the love of learning. He has traveled and studied at our academy for years up to this point. Grieved that this text was not currently circulating in the world, he sought out its good editions and painstakingly collated them; after quite a long period of time, he added Japanese reading marks beside [the characters]. Delivering it to the carvers, when it was about to be put onto woodblocks, he asked me to compose a preface. Although I am unskillful, how could I not rejoice that this text will flow to future generations and spread throughout the realm?
