無著論亦云，然於我想中隨眠不斷故，則為有我取，是故經言「是諸眾生，若取法相，則為著我」等。意亦同世親也，由法執取法相故，我等便生故。

Asaṅga's treatise also states: "However, because the dormant tendencies (anuśaya) in the notion of a self are not severed, there is grasping of a self; therefore the sūtra says, 'If these sentient beings grasp the mark of phenomena, they will cling to a self,' and so forth." His meaning is identical to Vasubandhu's: because one grasps the mark of phenomena through the attachment to phenomena, [the notion of] a self and so forth arise accordingly.
