述曰，依世親釋，就大文第二重校量之中上來破疑竟，自下第二正校量中復二，初、以財施校，次、命施校。初中復二，初、正校量，次、隨說是經已下釋所以。前中有三，初、世尊寄喻以問，次、善現順佛以答，第三、如來正為校量，此初也。

The commentary states: According to Vasubandhu's commentary, in the second major section, "Re-evaluating and Comparing," the refutation of doubts has ended above. From here below, the second [part], "The Proper Evaluation and Comparison," has two parts: first, comparing with material gifts (dāna); second, comparing with the gift of life. The first part also has two parts: first, the proper evaluation; second, from "Wherever this sūtra is preached" onward, explaining the reason. The previous part has three divisions: first, the Bhagavat asks by using a metaphor; second, Subhūti answers in accord with the Buddha; third, the Tathāgata properly makes the comparison. This is the first.
