乙亥之夏，刻竣。復持至求予必一言，以證考訂無私。予感其篤志，且喜法之弘傳也，乃忘僣越，略敘來由，以塞其責云。

In the summer of the yihai year [1815], the engraving was completed. He again brought it and requested that I must write a word to attest to the impartiality of the critical collation. Moved by his sincere aspiration, and furthermore rejoicing in the propagation of the Dharma, I set aside my presumption and briefly recounted the circumstances, so as to fulfill my responsibility.
