2.12

述曰，此第二指事，於中初引昔一身，次引餘多身，此初也。於中初、明離相成忍，次、反說舉成前。

The Commentary states: This is the second, pointing to an event, within which first he cites a single life in the past, and next cites many other lives; this is the first. Therein, first he clarifies that leaving behind marks accomplishes patience, and next he argues in reverse to establish the former.
