2.263

述曰，此第二成自義中。初、慰喻其心，示實道理；次、成無實度說，假我非真，此初也。謂真理中無有眾生如來可度，隨於外化可度假生也。

The Commentary says: This is within the second [part], establishing his own position. First, he consoles their minds and reveals the true principle; next, he establishes that there is no real delivering and explains that the provisional self is not real. This is the first. That is to say, within true reality there are no sentient beings that can be delivered by the Tathāgata; in accordance with external transformation, one may provisionally borrow [the notion of] sentient beings.
