述曰，此舉二頌，以成前義。於中初偈顯不應以色、聲以觀法身如來，若取色、聲，不契真理，是行邪道，不見法佛故。次偈明法身妙體超尋思故，凡夫不可見，亦非分別之識所能知故。《涅槃》云，「依法不依人，依了義不依不了義，依義不依語，依智不依識」也。

The Commentary says: This cites two verses to establish the previous meaning. Within them, the first verse reveals that one should not view the dharmakāya Tathāgata through form and sound; if one grasps at form and sound, one does not accord with true reality, which is to walk a mistaken path, because one does not see the Dharma-Buddha. The next verse clarifies that because the subtle essence of the dharmakāya transcends discursive contemplation, ordinary persons cannot see it, nor can it be known by discriminating consciousness. The Mahāparinirvāṇa Sūtra says: 'Rely on the Dharma and not on the person; rely on the definitive meaning and not on the non-definitive meaning; rely on the meaning and not on the words; rely on wisdom and not on consciousness.'
