2.305

述曰，世親云，此第三大段中曲文第三釋疑也。謂有疑曰：「若諸菩薩不受彼果報，云何諸菩薩福德眾生受用？」此意如釋迦佛捨第五分壽，留福德與未來眾生，故知菩薩亦受福德，如何言不受耶？如是等菩薩受福德無量故。

The commentary states: Vasubandhu says: This is the third detailed objection resolved within the third major section. That is, someone doubts: “If bodhisattvas do not receive that retribution, how can the merit of bodhisattvas be enjoyed by sentient beings?” The idea is: as when Śākyamuni Buddha gave up the fifth portion of his lifespan, leaving merit to future sentient beings, one thus knows that bodhisattvas also receive merit; how can it be said that they do not receive it? Because such bodhisattvas receive immeasurable merit.
