Asaṅga explains: Within this, the preceding three questions are answered. That is, 'should give rise to such a mind' answers the first question. 'Yet when all sentient beings have been brought to final nirvāṇa, not a single sentient being has in reality been brought to final nirvāṇa' answers the second question, meaning that when liberating sentient beings, one does not give rise to grasping onto oneself by saying 'I am able to do so'; it is essential that externally one does not construct the mark of having sentient beings, and internally one does not give rise to the attachment of 'I am able', liberating sentient beings while according with true reality—only then is it called 'practice'. 'If a bodhisattva has the mark of a self, and so on' answers the third question: one must realize the principle of the two emptinesses of persons and dharmas so that the two obstacles can be removed—only then is it called 'subduing'; if one says 'I am able', then one does not accord and unite with it.
