且天親、無著師補處尊，後學何疑或添或棄？故今所述不攻異端，疏是論文乳非城內，纂要名意及經題目。次下即釋，無煩預云。

Furthermore, Vasubandhu and Asaṅga took the Honoured One who will succeed the Buddha as their master; how could later scholars harbor doubt, or add to or discard [their teachings]? Therefore, what is expounded now does not attack differing views: the commentary is based on the treatises, just as the milk did not come from within the city walls. The meaning of the title 'Compilation of Essentials' and the sūtra title will be explained immediately below; there is no need to speak of them in advance.
