二、躡跡斷疑。論云「自此已下示現斷生疑心。」於中，文分二十七段：一、斷求佛行施住相疑。疑云：為求佛果行施，即是住所求佛相，云何無住？又，不住相為因，豈感色相之果？因果不類，故斷之。

Second, tracing back to sever doubts. The treatise says: 'From here on, it demonstrates the severing of doubts that arise.' Within this, the text is divided into twenty-seven sections: First, severing the doubt about abiding in marks when practicing generosity to seek Buddhahood. The doubt runs: practicing generosity to seek the fruit of Buddhahood is itself abiding in the mark of the Buddha sought; how can there be non-abiding? Furthermore, with non-abiding in marks as the cause, how could it induce the fruit of physical marks? The cause and fruit are not of the same kind; hence it is severed.
