The verse says: "Here in the realm of phenomena, / It is neither one nor different." The Treatise says: "Those Buddha-Tathāgatas do not abide in a single place within the dharmadhātu of tathatā, nor do they abide in different places; to demonstrate this meaning, it is spoken that a world is smashed into particles of dust." Thus the verse says: "Making a world into particles of dust: / This metaphor illustrates that meaning." Asaṅga says: "It is to refute the body of name and form that the realms and particles of dust are spoken of; therein, the skillful means of fine powder and the skillful means of having nothing seen—the dust particles being extremely numerous is the skillful means of fine powder." Dayun says: "This is analyzing dust to the point of fine powder; by means of this skillful means, coarse form is refuted. Speaking here of 'particles of dust', according to the Mahāyāna school, is the hypothetical mental division and analysis of a single clump of form down to the most subtle form as a particle, not the real particles of the Hīnayāna school."
