十二、斷佛因是有菩薩疑。論云「若無菩薩，云何釋迦如來於然燈佛所行菩薩行？」○斷之文四：○初、舉疑處。

12. Severing the doubt that the cause of Buddhahood implies the existence of a bodhisattva. The treatise says: "If there is no bodhisattva, how did the Tathāgata Śākyamuni practice the bodhisattva path before Dīpaṅkara Buddha?" The text that severs it has four parts: first, raising the point of doubt.
