降怨王請然燈佛入城，城中長幼盡迎，路泥，善慧布髮，佛與授記，故舉此問。
King Amitodana invited Dīpaṅkara Buddha to enter the city; everyone in the city, young and old, went out to welcome him. The road was muddy, and Sumati spread his hair; the Buddha bestowed a prediction upon him. Therefore, this question is raised.
