First, faith. If explained together with 'I heard', it is an expression indicating the teaching: 'Such a Dharma as this, I heard from the Buddha.' Explaining 'thus' alone, the Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa says: 'It is the fulfillment of faith.' In the great sea of the Buddha's Dharma, faith is that by which one enters, and wisdom is that by which one crosses over. One who has faith says 'this matter is thus'; one who lacks faith says 'this matter is not thus'. Furthermore, the Sage expounded the Dharma solely to reveal suchness; only suchness is right, hence it is called 'thus'. Moreover, that existence and nonexistence are non-dual is 'as'; that 'as' is neither existence nor nonexistence is 'is'.
