Asaṅga says: "Having already practiced generosity for the sake of sentient beings, why give rise to anger toward them? Because of being unable to be without the notion of sentient beings, when in conflict with sentient beings, exhaustion arises; hence, the selflessness of persons and selflessness of dharmas are revealed." The Treatise says: "'Marks' means the mark of sentient beings. 'Not marks' means selflessness. Seeing a self within the aggregates is the mark of sentient beings; 'all sentient beings' are the dharmas of the five aggregates. 'Not sentient beings' means the selflessness of dharmas, because the aggregates are empty." The suffering of lack of requisites is paired with the severing [of doubt] that follows.
