1.11

若準經題，具足合云波羅蜜，即歎慧之功也。唐言彼岸到，此猶西域之風；若順此方，合云到彼岸。彼岸者即是涅槃，為對生死之此故，號涅槃為彼，意明般若是到彼岸慧，斯則慧之別相也。

According to the sūtra's title, it should fully include "pāramitā", which is the praise of wisdom's power. In Chinese it translates as "the other shore reached", which follows the idiom of the Western Regions; if phrased in accordance with this land, it should say "reaching the other shore". "The other shore" is nirvāṇa; in contrast to "this shore" of birth and death, nirvāṇa is designated "the other", the intention being to clarify that prajñā is the wisdom that reaches the other shore; this, then, is the distinct characteristic of wisdom.
