此即《淨名》經文。彼云：「若彌勒得授記者，一切眾生亦應授記。何以故，一切眾生即寂滅相，不復更滅」等。今用此文以為難辭。難意云：「眾生既即寂滅，何有離此到彼？今言到彼者，莫違經耶？」但以下。釋通。但約翻迷成悟，便是離此到彼，若悟此已漸除漸證，名為究竟。然成波羅蜜要與七最勝相應，如《唯識》說。

This is the text of the Vimalakīrti Sūtra. That text says: "If Maitreya attains a prophecy, all sentient beings should also attain a prophecy. Why? All sentient beings are of the very characteristic of quiescent extinction, and are not extinguished again," and so forth. This text is now used as the words of the objection. The meaning of the objection is: "Since sentient beings are already identical to quiescent extinction, how can there be departing from this and reaching that? Now in speaking of 'reaching that', does it not contradict the sūtra?" "Only by..." Below: explaining and resolving. Merely according to overturning delusion to accomplish awakening, that is departing from this and reaching that. If, having awakened to this, one gradually eliminates [defilements] and gradually realizes [the fruit], it is named culmination. However, to accomplish a pāramitā, one must correspond with the seven supreme [factors], as explained in the Vijñaptimātratā [treatises].
