智為能度者。菩薩萬行非智不成，若無智慧即滯有著空，以智為主不著二邊，成無漏因獲菩提果。故《菩提資糧論》云：「施戒忍進定，及此五之餘，皆由智度故，波羅蜜所攝。」

Wisdom being able to cross over: The myriad practices of a bodhisattva cannot be accomplished without wisdom; without wisdom, one stagnates in existence or clings to emptiness. Taking wisdom as primary, one does not cling to the two extremes, completes the outflow-free cause, and attains the fruit of bodhi. Therefore the Bodhisambhāraka-śāstra states: 'Giving, morality, patience, vigor, meditation, and besides these five, all are subsumed under pāramitā by virtue of wisdom's crossing over.'
