如非下。恐聞有無不二為如，便謂如體是有是無，故有遮云如非有無，意明有無即不是，是即非有無也。此上二解，如字是顯體，是字即無非也。

From 'Suchness is not' downward: Fearing that upon hearing that non-duality of existence and non-existence is suchness, one might take the substance of suchness to be existent or non-existent, someone refutes this, saying that suchness is neither existent nor non-existent; the intention clarifies that existence and non-existence are just 'not so' (bushi), and 'so' (shi) is neither existent nor non-existent. In the two explanations above, the word 'ru' (suchness) reveals the substance, and the word 'shi' (is/right) is freedom from negation.
