慧不等者，此即大乘深慧，不論小乘淺慧。此慧若發，照見五蘊皆空，唯是心性，離自心外無別有法，今為無明覆蔽不得開發。故《華嚴》云：「若不了自心，云何知正道，彼由顛倒慧，增長一切惡。」

As for "wisdom is not equal [developed]": this is the deep wisdom of the Great Vehicle, not speaking of the shallow wisdom of the Lesser Vehicle. If this wisdom arises, it illuminates and sees that the five aggregates are all empty, being nothing other than the nature of mind, with no separate dharma outside one's own mind. Now, covered by ignorance, it cannot unfold. Thus the Avataṃsaka says: "If one does not comprehend one's own mind, how can one know the correct path? Through inverted wisdom, they increase all evils."
