謂四下。指經釋成。意云：四心中亦有住修降義，六度中亦有住修降義。何以故？住謂發心，必須修進；降謂制伏，依住修所明；由是於此不相捨離。秦什所略意在於茲，文雖不明義已具矣。

On "Namely the four..." and so forth: pointing to the sūtra to explain and establish it. The intention says: within the four minds there are also the meanings of abiding, cultivating, and subduing; within the six perfections there are also the meanings of abiding, cultivating, and subduing. Why is this? "Abiding" means generating the mind, which must be cultivated and advanced; "subduing" means controlling and mastering, which is clarified on the basis of abiding and cultivating; due to this, they do not abandon or part from one another here. What Kumārajīva of the Qin omitted had its intention here: although the text is not explicit, the meaning is already complete.
