鬪諍者。此明佛法之中多有諍論，且如西天大小乘宗分河飲水，大乘之內性相又殊，小乘之中二十部異，各皆儻己自是非他。爰及此方未免於是，若相若性、南宗北宗，禪講相非，彼此朋儻互不相許，名鬪諍也。

Regarding "conflict": this clarifies that within the Buddha's teaching there are many disputes. For instance, in India the Mahāyāna and Hīnayāna traditions parted ways like drinking from different rivers; within the Mahāyāna, nature and characteristics also differed; within the Hīnayāna, there were differences among the twenty schools, each being partisan to itself, asserting itself as right and others as wrong. Extending to this land, we have not avoided this: whether characteristics or nature, the Southern School or Northern School, Chan and doctrinal studies disparaging each other, forming factions and not acknowledging each other—this is called conflict.
