4.224

佛非有為者。此指偈云：「分別有為體，防彼成就得，三相異體故，離彼是如來。」故云非有為。亦是按定，立其理也。

On 'The Buddha is not conditioned (saṃskṛta)': This points to the verse saying: 'Conceptualising the conditioned entity, / guarding against their attainment of accomplishment; / because the three characteristics have different entities, / free from them is the Tathāgata.' Therefore it says he is not conditioned. It also fixes and establishes the principle.
