分清淨者。菩薩也。分斷諸障、分證真如，垢未全除故名為分。故《佛頂經》云：「餘塵尚諸學，明極即如來」，廣如序中滿淨覺者處說。

[On] "partial purity": the bodhisattva. Partially severing the obstructions and partially realizing tathatā, because defilement is not completely eliminated, it is called "partial." Thus the Śūraṅgama Sūtra says: "With remaining defilements one still undergoes training; when illumination reaches its peak, one is the Tathāgata." This is explained at length in the preface under the section on "the fully and purely awakened one."
