釋迦下。先述疑意。即釋迦因中為善慧仙人，蒙然燈如來授記云：「汝於來世當得作佛，號釋迦牟尼。」由此增進入第八地，故云受法。廣有因緣如第十二中說。

From "Śākya[muni]" downward first sets forth the point of doubt. That is, in his causal stage Śākyamuni was the ascetic Sumedha (or Uttara/Māṇava), and received a prediction from Dīpaṅkara Tathāgata, who said: "In a future age you will attain buddhahood and be named Śākyamuni." By this he advanced into the eighth stage, and hence it is called "receiving the Dharma." The detailed story is as explained in the twelfth [section].
