然所不及者，有二義：一、彼得福德，此得菩提故。二、彼有我相，此無我相故。故前云：「此人無我人相」等也。

"Yet what cannot be matched": there are two meanings: first, that [previous practice] attained merit, whereas this attains bodhi; second, that [previous practice] possessed marks of a self, whereas this is free of marks of a self. Hence it was said earlier: 'This person has no marks of a self, a person,' and so forth.
