5.58

又前下。約法通也。謂喻之前，未說四果無心，釋迦無得，嚴淨國土不嚴而嚴，修證佛身無證而證。是故校量之喻亦未能勝。後乃既明斯義法理兼深，由是校量之喻亦復殊勝。或可出生佛法之義，亦在前喻之後也。況後釋所以中五段經文，亦屬於此。思之。

"Furthermore, previously, etc.": resolving in terms of dharmas. It means that before the metaphor, it had not yet been spoken that the four fruitions are without mind, Śākyamuni has no attainment, the adornment and purification of the buddha-lands is non-adornment as adornment, and the cultivation and realization of the buddha-body is non-realization as realization. Therefore, the metaphor of comparison could not yet be superior. Afterwards, having clarified these meanings, the principle of the Dharma is also deep; consequently, the metaphor of comparison is likewise extraordinary. Or it may be that the meaning of generating the Buddha's teachings is also after the previous metaphor. Moreover, the five passages of sūtra text in the subsequent explanation of the reason also pertain to this. Consider this.
