佛意等者。空生本疑有取，佛意欲顯無取，取與無取在於性相二土。故且舉相問之，試其解不。

"The Buddha's intent" and so forth: Subhūti originally doubted that there was grasping; the Buddha's intent was to reveal non-grasping, and grasping and non-grasping reside in the two lands of nature and form. Therefore, he tentatively raised the form and questioned him, testing whether he understood or not.
