5.98

泣歎。經意者。謂空生聞上所說，喜極成悲泣涕連連，自宣心曲，身為羅漢已是多時，慧眼雖開未聞斯教。

Weeping and praising. The meaning of the sūtra is: when Subhūti heard what was said above, his extreme joy turned to sorrow and his tears flowed continuously, as he disclosed his inner feelings: having been an arhat for a long time, though his wisdom-eye had opened, he had never before heard such a teaching.
