答：「以定慧望於佛性，慧是因、定是緣，因親緣疎故使然也。又聲聞但有偏空慧無中道慧，故云慧少，菩薩有中慧故見佛性也。又此五中，唯第三持業釋，餘皆依主釋也。」

Answer: "Comparing concentration and wisdom to the Buddha-nature, wisdom is the cause and concentration is the condition; because the cause is direct while the condition is indirect, it is thus. Furthermore, the śrāvaka has only one-sided emptiness wisdom and lacks middle-way wisdom, hence it is said that wisdom is deficient; the bodhisattva possesses middle wisdom, hence sees the Buddha-nature. Furthermore, among these five, only the third is an appositional compound (karmadhāraya), while the rest are determinative compounds (tatpuruṣa)."
