6.69

以是下。釋多所以。以如來舉因緣以問，空生牒因緣以答，因緣無性福亦無性，乃成無漏，是故多也。此文但標，下文即釋。

"Because of this," and so forth: explaining the reason it is great. Because the Tathāgata raises causes and conditions to ask, and Subhūti cites causes and conditions to answer: since causes and conditions lack intrinsic nature, merit also lacks intrinsic nature, and thereby becomes uncontaminated; therefore it is great. This passage merely indicates it; the text below explains it.
