又說時下。約事明無染。前約不稱理，今約不稱事。夫說法者本為利生，今為名利豈非染說。
"Moreover, when speaking, etc.": this clarifies non-defilement in terms of phenomena. The preceding was in terms of not tallying with principle; here it is in terms of not tallying with phenomena. Speaking the Dharma is originally for benefiting sentient beings; now, to do so for fame and gain—how could this not be defiled speaking?
