From "Giving lives like the Ganges sands..." down: explains the fulfillment of the remedy. The sūtra painstakingly compares measures with the intention of causing reform; seeing great gain, one does not seek small gain. Since one does not seek gain, the body is not weary; since the body is not weary, the mind is not afflicted; since the mind is not afflicted, one gives rise to vigor; having given rise to vigor, one is then able to uphold it and obtain boundless merit. Therefore one knows that the intention of the sūtra is to remedy this hindrance and accomplish its abiding.
