Regarding "all other minute [beings]," etc.: as the Avataṃsaka Sūtra says: "Exhausting the Dharma realm and space realm throughout the seas of worlds in the ten directions, all sentient beings have various distinctions: namely, egg-born, womb-born, moisture-born, transformationally born; or those that are born and abide dependent on earth, water, fire, and wind; or those that are born and abide dependent on space and various plants and trees; various classes of beings, various physical bodies, up to and including all gods, dragons, the eight classes, humans, non-humans, and so on; footless, two-footed, four-footed, many-footed; with form, formless; with perception, without perception, neither with perception nor without perception, and so on." Since in the present sūtra there is no separate exposition, one must not fabricate words out of nothing. Therefore the commentary concludes: "their classes and categories cannot be fully divided."
