Regarding "the intention of the sūtra lies here": it lies in presenting subduing to indicate abiding and cultivation, wishing to show that the text is concise while the meaning is rich, manifesting the profound subtlety. Although it begins with abiding and cultivation, it culminates in subduing; because grasping the intent is profoundly deep here, it only mentions the one.
