梵語須陀洹，華言入流，此聲聞所證初果也。已斷見惑，離四趣生，預入聖人之流，故云入流。

In Sanskrit 'srotāpanna', in Chinese 'stream-enterer'. This is the first fruition realized by a śrāvaka. Having severed the delusions of view and departed from birth in the four destinies, one enters in advance into the stream of noble ones; hence it is called 'stream-enterer'.
