1.143

前說一大千世界七寶布施以喻持說福勝，今以無量大千世界七寶布施不如持說此經四句，其福轉勝於彼，此則增勝而論，格量持說之功。

Previously, giving the seven treasures of one great trichiliocosm was spoken of to illustrate that the merit of upholding and explaining [the sūtra] surpasses it; now, giving the seven treasures of immeasurable great trichiliocosms is not equal to upholding and explaining four lines of this sūtra, its merit turning out to surpass that. This is to treat it by augmenting and increasing, evaluating the efficacy of upholding and explaining.
